We do not ask for your name, email address or payment details. What we record comes from your visit itself:
Page views. When our server delivers a page, it records the page address, the website that sent you (its domain only), any campaign tags in the link (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign), the type of device (mobile, tablet or desktop) and a daily pseudonym. It does not keep your IP address or your browser's user-agent string.
Clicks on Amazon links. Our links to Amazon go through our own /go/ address. For each click we record the time, the product or search term, the page and the button you used, your cookie choice, the daily pseudonym, your browser's user-agent string and the Amazon address we sent you to. We do not keep your IP address.
Automated visitors. Search engines and other bots that identify themselves are recorded with their IP address, so we can check they are who they say they are.
Separately, the servers that deliver this website and the proxy in front of them keep access logs, which include your IP address, for security and troubleshooting. They are deleted after 14 days.
The daily pseudonym is a code our server computes from your IP address, your browser's user-agent string and the date. It lets us count one day's visits; it changes every day, so it does not connect your visits across days, and nothing is stored in your browser for it.
Only to count visits and clicks per page, button and product, so we know which guides are useful, and to keep automated traffic out of those counts. We do not build profiles of visitors and we do not use this information for advertising.
Product images are loaded from Amazon's image servers (m.media-amazon.com), so your browser connects to Amazon when a page shows a product, and Amazon receives your IP address and browser details with that request.
When you click a link to Amazon you leave this website. Our /go/ address builds the Amazon link from the product and our Associates tag only; nothing about you is added to it. What Amazon collects from then on is covered by Amazon's own privacy notice.
Server and proxy access logs are deleted after 14 days. Detailed page-view records are deleted once they are 13 months old; after that we keep only daily totals per page and per button, which identify no one. Click records currently have no automatic deletion date.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA, as amended by the CPRA) defines those terms. There is therefore nothing to opt out of, whether or not your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.
We do not track visitors across other websites, so a Do Not Track signal does not change what we record.
Depending on where you live, for example in California, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and not to be treated differently for asking. To exercise these rights, write to contact@bellandbar.com.
Because our measurement keeps no names, email addresses or IP addresses, we may need details such as the date of your visit to look for records, and some records cannot be linked to you at all.
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
When what we record changes, we update this page and its effective date. See also our Cookie Policy and Affiliate Disclosure.
